With the 2025 baseball season coming to an end, The Martinez Sturgeon went out with a swing. Their game against The Bakersfield Train Robbers at the Joe DiMaggio field on July 26, 2025 was definitely one for the books.

Baseball in Martinez isn’t just about what happens on the field — it’s about the fans, families, and the entire community that rallies behind the team. The Sturgeon have one of the most passionate fanbases, and their support was felt at this home game. The energy in the stands was riveting, with fans cheering during every inning and making the players feel like superstars. The energy down on the ball field was tense as the innings passed by and the Sturgeon definitely wanted this win.

Every at bat was a nail-biting experience as the Sturgeon seemed to be getting closer to a score on the board. While they couldn’t quite connect, they played with a lot of heart.

Towards the end of the game, The Bakersfield Train Robbers had a major lead on the Martinez Sturgeon but it wasn’t over yet. Every at bat was an opportunity and the Sturgeon let the Train Robbers know that.

By the end of the game it was a heartbreaking loss for the Sturgeon. With a 12-0 score the team left the field with their head high. The 2026 season looks very promising for the baseball team and will definitely be an interesting season next year.
