Jaclyn’s Summer Portraits
Hey everyone! Maddy here, and excited to tell you all about my recent summer portrait sessions last week. Individual portraits are some of my favorite kinds of photos to take because they give clients such a boost of confidence, and I love to see them feeling like best versions of themselves! It’s an opportunity to capture someone’s personality in a genuine way, and the photoshoots always end up being so much fun. This photoshoot in particular was with two clients whom I consider close friends, Lexi and Jaclyn.
Lexi brought her energy to the shoot for sure and was ready to go! She used to do dance for years and even offered to do some cool dance poses during the shoot, you can check them out on her gallery.
Jaclyn brought her creativity to the shoot, she had so many ideas for photos and posing ideas that she wanted. She had a vision and I was so there for it! She was not a huge fan of all the wildlife but was so brave when it came time to kick her shoes off and get some barefoot shots!
The goal of the photoshoot was to capture genuine femininity in a unique and artful way. We shot at a nature preserve, Oxbow Nature Study Area here in Reno, NV. The preserve was located directly next to the Truckee River and had so many tall trees and full landscape that made the photos even more breathtaking. Here is a picture I captured next to the river:
I wanted to get creative with the posing so I thought it might be a good idea to include some props to make it more interesting! I brought a bouquet of flowers and a vintage mirror. The flowers really added a feminine look to the photos and I was able to get so many different shots using them. The vintage mirror produced ethereal pictures that gave Lexi and Jaclyn’s portraits a timeless look. Here is how they came out!
We got some up close pictures that really focused on highlighting feminine features using unique composition and posing. Here are two that I really love!
This shoot was so memorable and it gave me the feeling of having a girls day in the park. So much creativity and smiles shared, I am so excited for more summer portrait sessions to come!
